Loch Leven at Glencoe, The Highlands of Scotland.
For those of you who have never witnessed the beauty of this magical place, here are just a few of my recent holiday pictures to give you a brief taste of what you have been missing. Even the beastly midges cannot spoil the fantastic scenery and the peace & tranquillity of the Scottish Highlands.
A visit to Glencoe & the surrounding areas has to be on everyones itinary if planning a holiday to this wonderful part of the UK.
Whether you are a camper, under canvass or caravan / motor home, I can strongly recommend this campsite, surrounded by mountains and at the edge of Loch Leven.http://www.invercoe.co.uk
The 2nd slide show is basically all things bright & beautiful. I never go out anywhere without my camera, even the back garden plays host to a number of little creatures.
The last set of photos are of our latest holiday in Somerset and Dorset. We spent a rather wet 10 days in Somerset, staying at a campsite in Martock which we can highly recommended, Southfork Caravan Park ..http://www.southforkcaravans.co.uk, a small quiet & clean site with extremely friendly owners. We visited many places in the area which included the wildlife park at Cricket St Thomas, a fantastic day out which took us a whole 7 hours to wander around. The Swannery at Abottsbury in Dorset and the Steam Train on the West Somerset Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead. Also a wonderful animal sanctuary at Ferne near Chard, Somerset. They rescue and provide a home for unwanted and ill-treated animals for all sorts of animals as you can see. Check them out with this link...http://www.ferneanimalsanctuary.org....it is well worth the visit if you are in the area, it is set out in lovely grounds with a picnc area and although admission is absolutely free, there are donation boxes for those wishing to contribute towards the animals care.
